 The Lincoln County Family YMCA opened its doors in February 2001. This five-year venture was the vision of many dedicated people, especially Jim Burt, Capital Campaign Chairman, and Pete Acker, CEO of Carolinas Medical Center-Lincoln. The two-story building is located on 2.5 acres adjacent to Carolinas Medical Center-Lincoln and was built on land donated by Lincoln Health System.
The YMCA provides space for Carolinas Medical Center-Lincoln's use in the way of a "Wellness Center." That space includes a kitchen for special diet and food preparation, as well as a classroom, an office, and an exam room. Carolinas Medical Center-Lincoln offers a wide variety of programs and services at the YMCA. This collaborative effort between Carolinas Medical Center-Lincoln and The Lincoln County Family YMCA will further enhance the healthcare of the communities served.
