Scholarship Opportunities

Carolinas Medical Center-Lincoln cares about the future of healthcare in Lincoln County. That is why we are pleased to announce that we have expanded our scholarship offerings to include a new scholarship to be awarded for special, hard-to-recruit disciplines in the amount of $8,000.

A recent Associated Press report reminded us of the emerging strain on healthcare that we've been addressing for some time now— baby boomers will soon be utilizing the U.S. healthcare system in record numbers, and in many disciplines there are insufficient numbers of qualified employees and physicians to care for them. To prepare for this increased volume, Carolinas Medical Center-Lincoln has been engaged in many efforts to encourage individuals into health careers. We work with both public schools and local colleges, sponsor health career fairs for middle school students, and provide a career counseling link on our website. Our new scholarship program is only the most recent of many efforts to prepare our organization for the coming healthcare challenges.

For many years, we and our partners have awarded four (4) annual scholarships to current employees or community members in the amount of $1,000. Generally, a year of full-time work with CMC-Lincoln is asked of scholarship recipients. The new scholarship awards require two years of work.
