Due to increased growth in eastern Lincoln County, Carolinas Medical Center-Lincoln
opened a new free-standing Imaging Center in May 2004 at
Catawba Springs Commons (275 Highway 16 North).
After conducting focus groups with women in the East Lincoln
community, Carolinas Medical Center-Lincoln concluded the need for mammography
services and bone densitometry testing to be available outside the hospital
setting. This free-standing imaging center allows for these routine exams to be
conducted within a medical office setting, while still allowing all films to be
read by board-certified radiologists of Charlotte Radiology Group without the
need for a visit to the hospital.
